Fruit Enzymes and why I love them!!

Hey Hey Y’all!!! OK so lets get into it real quick.  You may be thinking that you don’t even know what the heck a fruit enzyme even is! No worries Sis I got you, just keep reading…

An article I read by gave the following definition “Found in a whole range of fruit, most typically tropical varieties such as pineapple, papaya and mango, fruit enzymes speed up chemical reactions and consequently biological processes.” I know, I know your immediate thought after reading that was “GIRL WHET!!!” LOL!! So in layman terms it’s basically saying fruit enzymes nibble away at and dissolve superficial dead skin cells. Therefore enhancing cell turnover which can result in a smoother and brighter complexion.

Before I even thought about becoming an esthetician, I loved fruit enzyme masks. Story time: Picture it…In 2017 When I was in my adult acne stage and didn’t know Sugar Honey Iced Tea about purging. I ordered a pumpkin enzyme mask and bayyybbaabbyyyyy the purging that I encountered afterward made me throw the whole jar in the trash. But had I stuck it out and trusted the process my skin would have thanked me and I would’ve had better skin way before the last two years!  Enzymes are such a gentle and effect way to start your journey into chemical exfoliating.

One of my favorite gentle fruit enzymes is papaya.  It gently exfoliates while also hydrating and nourishing the skin’s acid mantle.  It can also help in healing inflamed acne.  I own the Jamie and Grant Papaya and Collagen Mask (hyperlink your store if in stock or relauching). I love the slight tingle that it gives when applied to let me know it’s working to dissolve the dead skin cells while also adding some moisture. Follow it up with a hydrating toner and serum from the  Jamie and Grant 405 collection and my moisturizer of choice that day and then I’m out!

For the newbies and OG’s alike, bottom line if you haven’t got into the fruit enzyme gang you don’t know what you’re missing! Get into it and watch your skin glow up even more 😊
